Chancellor’s Day Parade 2012

Army, Air Force, and Navy ROTC Cadets from LSU and Southern University took part in the annual Chancellor’s Day Parade at the LSU War Memorial on April 26. Taking part in the review of the Corps of Cadets were, from left, Chancellor Michael Martin; Captain Alton “Roscoe” Ross, Professor of Naval Science at Southern University; Lt. Col. Marston McKeon, Commandant and Professor of Aerospace Studies;  and LTC John Wright, Commander of Tiger Battalion and Professor of Military Science.

Ernest W. Lutz, Jr. , a 1975 LSU graduate, has been appointed chief of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center (EDRC) Internal Review Office in Vicksburg, Miss.

Lutz joins ERDC from Headquarters, Department of the Army, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 at the Pentagon, where he served as director of Internal Review.

His past assignments include the Defense Contract Audit Agency in Germantown, Md., along with a variety of civilian and military duty positions in the Pentagon.

A U.S. Army veteran, Lutz is the recipient of many decorations, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Joint Services Achievement Medal. He also earned the Joint Staff Identification Badge and the Army Staff Badge.

He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Congratulations

COL Jerald J. Juneau, (U.S. Army, ret.), a life member and member of Cadets of the Ole War Skule Board of Directors, has been elected president of the Port of Greater Baton Rouge Board of Commissioners. Juneau is the former deputy secretary-treasurer for the Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana. The port governance body is a fifteen member commission appointed by Gov. Bobby Jindal.

12 Inducted into Military Hall of Honor

As the nation celebrated Veterans Day 2011, LSU paid tribute to its military history at LSU Salutes, sponsored by LSU and Cadets of the Ole War Skule.

As part of the weekend-long celebration, Nov. 10-12, a dozen distinguished alumni were inducted into the military Hall of Honor during ceremonies at the LSU War Memorial on the Parade Ground. Read More »
